A Third Cash Artist Award Added
A third cash artist award has been added this year to the $100.00 cash Best in Show and Best Booth Awards already given at the event. The Artists Draw Award is a unique type of award for art festivals. The event promoters, believing sincerely that all the artists that participate in the event are award winning caliber artists, offer this award to give all the artists displaying a chance to win not based on their work, but on the luck of the draw. All the artists that are participating in the event will have their names placed in a drawing to win a $100.00 Cash Award. This is a randomly drawn winner that will be drawn and announced at the Saturday evening Sippin’ Cider With SACA III meet and greet the artists reception from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Room 444 at CAC. The public is invited.
Cost of Booth Space for Artists reduced again this year
DST Creative, producer and promoter of the Broadway Palm AJ Art Festival of the Superstitions and a participating festival artist announced that the cost for the 2-day festival for artists booth spaces has been lowered again this year. For just $60.00 for the 2-day event, artists can display in a 10′x20′ booth space. Two artists may share a space to keep costs affordable. Artists sharing space must both be juried in. If you have shown and been juried into any of the previous AJ Art Festivals you are automatically juried in. There is no jury or application fee for this festival for those artists who are applying to the event for the first time. This year the show is held under a Community Event License with a non-profit sponsor, the Superstition Area Cultural Alliance (SACA). Instead of having to have a valid City of Apache Junction Business License, participating artists only have to pay a $15.00 special event permit fee in addition to their booth fee. Those participating artists that already do have a current AJ City License will NOT be required to pay the $15.00. Festival attendance is expected to be 2000+ this year.
The cost last year was $75.00 for the space plus $50.00 for an AJ City Business License. Times are tough economically and DST Creative continually seeks ways to help artists affordably promote their work at this festival. If you are an artist and are interested in displaying and selling your work at this show contact Scott Taylor, Event Director at dstcreative@hotmail.com or call 480-474-1137. Original artwork and reproductions of the originals only please. No buy/sell merchandise.
